Weird Soundboard: 56 Sounds, Free to Play
What this page covers
"Weird" is not a family, it is a verdict. This board collects the clips that are hard to describe and easy to recognise: a kid screaming in a way that has no name, an electronic cough, a fish opening its mouth over an emergency alert, a glitched Pokémon cry, three hysterical laughs, a Mario power-up that sounds wrong.
The organising principle is not the source and not the genre. It is the small wrongness that makes a sound stick — the thing that makes you replay it to check you heard it correctly.
Every sound on this board
The table below is the board as measured. Titles vary from descriptive to useless, which is a feature of the family: if a clip could be described cleanly it would belong on a different board. Where a title names a show or a game, that is the uploader telling you where it came from.

What makes a sound weird
Four qualities show up again and again on this board, and once you can hear them you can predict which rows will work on a given person.
The first is wrongness of scale: a reaction that is far too big or far too small for its cause. The kid screaming row is the purest example — the emotional size does not match anything a child could plausibly be reacting to, and that mismatch is the whole clip.
The second is wrongness of medium. A cough produced by a synthesiser, a laugh that sounds like it was generated rather than performed, a voice with the formants in the wrong place. These clips are uncanny rather than funny, and uncanny has a longer shelf life because it does not need a setup.
The third is interruption. The fish and the emergency alert is a joke about two things that should never be in the same file, and the joke is entirely in the collision.
The fourth is glitch. A cry that has been resampled until it is unrecognisable, a mushroom power-up pitched down until it sounds like a threat. These are the rows that people describe as "cursed", which is another word for a sound that is almost familiar.
Why this board is hard to browse and worth it
The usual way of finding a sound is by name, and this board breaks it: you cannot search for a noise you have never heard. That is why the rows are titled descriptively wherever the uploader allowed it, and why this page spends its words describing what the clips do rather than what they are called.
The practical route is to audition the first ten rows and stop when something makes you replay it. That reaction — replaying to check — is the only reliable test for this family, and it is also the exact reaction you are trying to produce in whoever you send the clip to.
Using them
These are reaction clips, and they work best as an answer to something that has already gone slightly wrong in the conversation. They are poor openers: without a preceding moment, a weird sound is just a noise.
They are also poor alerts, for the same reason. An alert needs to be identifiable in half a second; a weird clip needs a beat of confusion before it lands, and a stream overlay does not give you that beat.
On a phone, most of these survive because they are mid-range. The ones that do not are the low, pitched-down rows, which turn into a rumble on a small speaker. If you are playing to a room, check the row on the device you will actually use.
A note on the source material
Several rows come from shows and games aimed at children, and one is built around an emergency alert tone. The board keeps the titles as uploaded because they are the only provenance these files have, but it takes no position on whether any of them are appropriate for your context. If a clip is funny because it is disturbing, that is worth being deliberate about before you press it in front of an audience.
Questions people ask
Is there a theme here? No, and that is deliberate. A "weird" board that only contained one kind of weirdness would be a genre board with a misleading name.
Why are some titles so vague? Because the uploader could not describe the sound either. The table keeps the original name and the prose does the describing.
Can I use these in a video? The board owns none of the audio. For commercial work, trace the clip to its source first.
How this board is maintained
Titles are kept as uploaded, duplicates stay as separate rows when the audio differs, and the count in the heading is taken after the site's content screen has run so it matches the table.
