A bit has a target who will find it funny in a minute. Harassment has a target who has asked you to stop. There is no third category, and no clip on this board is funny enough to be worth crossing the line for.

The practical version: troll your friends, not strangers. Do not drop a trolling sound into a stream you are not part of, do not use one to derail a call that is doing something serious, and if someone says stop, stop in the same second. The sound is a joke; the repetition is not.

Trolling a public stream is the case people get wrong most often. The streamer is working, the audience is watching, and a sound that arrives from outside the frame is not a prank between friends — it is an interruption that the streamer has to manage on camera. That is not a bit, it is a cost.

The safest pattern is a single press at a moment when the conversation can absorb it: after someone finishes a story, after a game round ends, after a pause. Trolling sounds are punctuation; they are not content, and a call that is fifty per cent trolling sounds like a call nobody wants to be on.

Volume matters more here than on the meme boards, because these sounds are meant to interrupt. A bell at full volume is an alarm; the same bell at half volume is a joke. If you are playing into a voice call, use a virtual cable and keep the system level low — a page cannot push audio into Discord on its own.

For streams, keep the trolling board out of your alert rotation entirely. Alerts are permission for other people to make noise in your stream; a bell triggered by a follow is fine, a bell triggered by a raid is a way to make the raid leave.
