Bark Fart Soundboard: 56 Sounds, Free to Play

What this page covers

A bark fart is a compound joke: someone says "bark", someone else answers with a fart, and the collision is the entire reason it is funny. This board collects the versions of that collision — clean, loud, slowed, moaned, bass-boosted and one that is just the word "bark" with a wet finish.

The family is small in idea and large in execution. There are fifty-six rows here for a sound that lasts about two seconds, and most of them are the same joke performed at a different speed. That is not a failure of curation; it is what a meme sounds like when a hundred people record their own take on it and only the funny ones get uploaded.

Every sound on this board

The table is generated from the same inventory the site navigates, so it is the whole board rather than a highlighted selection. Titles are as uploaded, spelling included. Where an uploader added "loud" to the filename, the clip is usually louder than its neighbours, which is the one piece of metadata the title reliably carries.

What separates a good bark fart from a bad one

The good ones commit. A hesitant bark followed by a polite fart sounds like two people apologising to each other; the funny version is louder than the situation calls for, and it ends before anyone can react to it. Length is the tell: anything past three seconds starts explaining the joke.

The second variable is the join. The bark and the fart either overlap or they do not, and the versions that work let the last consonant of "bark" sit right against the first note of the fart. When there is a gap, the listener hears two sounds instead of one mistake.

The third is pitch. A high bark over a low fart reads as two characters; a low bark over a low fart reads as one creature, which is usually the funnier reading. The slowed uploads on this board lean into that on purpose: they drop the whole thing an octave and turn a two-second gag into something that sounds like it is coming through a wall.

When to use it

This is a reaction sound, not a transition. It fits the moment after somebody says something confident and wrong, and it does not fit anything else. Firing it at the start of a call is a non-sequitur; firing it after a failed boss attempt is a sentence.

It also works as an answer. In a group where everyone already knows the bit, "bark fart" functions as a complete reply to a question nobody wanted answered seriously, and the sound does the same job faster than typing it.

If you are streaming, keep this one out of your alert rotation. Alerts fire on a timer and this sound only works on a beat; the same clip that killed in a call will land flat the fourth time a new follower triggers it.

Using it on Discord, OBS and a phone

A web page cannot push audio into a Discord voice channel, so the working setups are a virtual audio cable the browser plays into, or a browser source in OBS with audio monitoring on. Both are local and free. Both also mean the sound reaches other people a fraction of a second after it reaches you, which matters more here than it does for a long clip: a two-second joke with a delayed punchline is a different joke.

On a phone, the clip goes to the media channel. That is enough for a room full of people and not enough for a voice call unless you are on speaker. Holding the phone to your ear and pressing play produces nothing anyone else can hear.

The volume slider is the right tool for the loud uploads. Normalising every clip to the same level would flatten the difference between a bark recorded close to the mic and one recorded across a room, and that difference is most of what distinguishes one row from another.

Questions people ask

Is this one sound or two? Two, glued. The name describes the join, not a single recording, and the versions that sound like one creature are the ones where the join is tightest.

Why does the board keep the quiet uploads? Because a quiet bark fart is useful when you are in a call with someone whose headphones are already too loud, and because a list that only keeps the loudest version of a meme is a list of the same joke fifty-six times.

Can I use it in a video? The board claims no ownership of any clip. If you are publishing commercially, find the original uploader and ask, because a public soundboard is not a licence.

How this board is maintained

Titles are kept as uploaded and duplicates are kept as separate rows, since two uploads of the same joke routinely differ in pitch or length. Entries that fail the site's content screen are removed before the count is taken, and the number in the page heading is taken from the same table you can scroll, so the two cannot disagree.
